Trailers and rear-mounted bike carriers usually use filament bulbs. However, modern LED lighting is increasingly being used. This often causes issues with transmitting light signals, as conventional trailer control units in wiring harnesses cannot process these signals.
The trailer control units in our PREMIUM wiring harnesses support both types of lighting, making them compatible with LEDs. These LED-compatible control units are clearly marked with a coloured "LED" label.
If a vehicle is already equipped with a wiring harness from JAEGER automotive that includes a conventional trailer control unit, it can be replaced with an LED-compatible alternative.
Submit a request to JAEGER automotive for an LED upgrade, including the 8-digit article number from the old control unit.
