DEPARTURE CONTROL MADE EASY
Every new driver learns in driving school: Before setting off with a trailer, a so-called "departure control" must be performed to ensure traffic and operational safety. This primarily involves checking the trailer's lighting system.
Previous procedure: A second helper was required. The helper activated the various light functions from the front of the vehicle as instructed by the driver. The driver, positioned behind the trailer, checked the functionality of the lights.
NEW with EasyTrailerCheck (ETC): No helper needed.
The driver activates the ETC: ignition on, hazard lights on. The driver can independently and conveniently check the lighting functions behind the trailer without assistance. To make learning the procedure easier, a handy card with the process is included. This card can be attached to the sun visor until the function is memorised.
The new generation of trailer control units for CAN bus vehicles now includes the EasyTrailerCheck function. The existing range and new developments in the PREMIUM program are gradually being equipped with this feature. This significantly enhances the PREMIUM product line without any additional cost.
If a vehicle has been equipped with a wiring harness from JAEGER automotive and a conventional control unit without EasyTrailerCheck, the control unit can be replaced with an alternative model featuring the ETC function.
Submit a request to JAEGER automotive for an ETC upgrade, including the 8-digit article number from the old control unit.
